Sworu ("Sworu", "we", "us", or "our") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Sworu platform, including our mobile applications, websites, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
By using Sworu, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
We may collect information you provide directly, including:
- Name, phone number, email address
- Account type (customer or pro)
- Job descriptions, messages, and photo attachments
- Offers, confirmations, and reviews
- Credentials uploaded by pros (licenses, certifications, registrations, insurance, bonds, or other qualifying documents)
- Reports or safety-related submissions
- Support communications
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
When you use the Platform, we may collect:
- Device information (device type, OS version)
- App usage data (pages viewed, actions taken)
- IP address; approximate location for general usage analytics; precise job location (street-level address) when posting or accepting a job, used to match nearby pros within a configurable radius
- Log and diagnostic data
1.3 Payment Information
Sworu uses Stripe to collect platform fees from pros via saved-card auto-charges and to process admin-issued fee refunds. We do not store full card details on our servers. Sworu does not process payments between customers and pros — customers pay pros directly off-platform (e.g., cash or peer-to-peer apps), and we do not collect or store those transaction details.
2. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- Operate and improve the Platform
- Facilitate job posting, offers, and confirmations
- Enable communication between users
- Manage customer tokens, pro fees, and refunds
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unsafe behavior
- Respond to reports and support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Information
We may share information:
- Between customers and pros after job confirmation. Pro identity and contact information are revealed to a customer only after the customer accepts that pro's offer; before acceptance, pro profiles are shown anonymously.
- With service providers including cloud hosting (AWS), payment processing (Stripe), email and SMS delivery (AWS), push notifications (Expo), AI content processing (OpenAI), and mapping/location services (Google)
- When required by law or legal process
- To protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Sworu and users
We do not sell your personal information.
4. AI Processing of User Content
Sworu uses automated AI systems to validate and enrich job descriptions, moderate showcase photos and reviews, sanitize pro bios for anonymity, summarize public reviews, suggest categories, and rank pro–job matches. AI processing is part of providing the Platform; we do not sell content or model outputs to third parties.
5. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to:
- Provide the Platform
- Maintain safety and audit records
- Comply with legal requirements
Safety reports and incident logs may be retained longer for compliance and risk management purposes.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Choices
You may:
- Update or correct your account information
- Request account deletion (subject to legal and safety retention requirements)
- Control certain app permissions via your device settings
- If you are a California resident, exercise rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of any sale (we do not sell personal information). 8. Children's Privacy
Sworu is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
9. International Use
Sworu currently operates in the United States. Your information is processed and stored on infrastructure located in the United States (AWS us-west-2). If we expand to other jurisdictions, we will update this policy and take reasonable steps to protect data across borders.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
